Longtime friends Kyler England and Lalo Crane create family-friendly music inspired and approved by their toughest critics/most appreciative fans: their young kids… But before trading in the tour bus for the minivan, you may have heard band member/singer-songwriter Kyler England writing and singing at the top of the dance charts with Tiesto, topping the iTunes charts with LA band The Rescues, or licensed on numerous shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, etc.

Vibraphonist/percussionist, composer + songwriter Lalo Crane spent years touring as a performer and educator throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Europe; was featured on NPR, Jazziz, Jazztimes, Downbeat, JazzWeek, the Village Voice, etc.; and now records mallets for film ("Don Jon”, PBS’s “Snow Monkey’s, etc.) and advertising (AT&T, Cheerios, Lysol, Vonage, etc.) in her LA studio. She endorses Hohner instruments, Vic Firth, and Alternate Mode.

"Girls and boys can like the same things; girls and boys can be strong, brave, quiet and gentle. And when their imaginations are unfettered by gender bias, girls and boys can dream big. Indie singer/songwriter Kyler England and noted jazz vibist Lalo Crane (the duo known as Freckleland), join their considerable talents to deliver that "free to be" message without preachiness-indeed, with a happy, smart, uplift and matter-of-factness that assumes gender limitations simply don't apply. A sampling: the "Like a Girl" anthem ("I say I walk like a girl, with my head held high…I am brave and strong/all the girls out there sing along"); "Boys Will Be Boys," by Freckleland and Derryck Gleaton ("And even though I'm big and tough, I don't always wanna play rough, I curl up like a cat and read sometimes"; "When I Grow Up" (I'm a dreamer/I'm a do-er/I'm a try-er, a stick-to-er/And I can't wait to see who I'm gonna be/When I grow up"). Validating messages aside, the bounce and flow, interesting layers, percussive hop and pop, and expressive vocals make this one fine and dandy album from two career music artists, a sterling follow-up to their outstanding debut children's album, "Be My Friend." -- Lynne Heffley, ©2016 Parents' Choice
